Wild Warrior Adventure (WWA) exists to encourage those who have served / continue to serve in the U.S. Armed Forces, have risked their lives to defend our freedom and have sustained wounds, including the invisible wounds of combat operational stress injuries, and the stress of the rigors of military service.

We serve our Warriors and their families through providing spiritual outdoor adventures in exceptional environments, away from the distractions of daily life, to find freedom from bondage, to build emotional and spiritual resiliency, and to lead healthy, God-centered lives.

Wild Warrior Adventure partners with various military organizations and commands such as Military Chaplaincy, Veteran’s Administration Staff, The Master’s Program, other Veteran Service Organizations, and our Alumni to identify Veterans and Service Members who would benefit from the WWA Adventure.

Through the generous support of individuals, organizations, and corporations, we are able to fund the transport of attendees to our outdoor adventure locations where they will be housed, fed (physically, emotionally and spiritually), and treated like VIPs. As Alumni of WWA, they will always be a part of our family as we continue to offer aftercare programs and opportunities for ongoing fellowship.

It has been proven that the adventure of fly fishing and outdoor activities, great food, hospitality, and fellowship around the fire can create an environment where significant conversations take place. These intentional experiences and conversations lead to healing, freedom, and a renewed hope. This creates the environment and bond that allow our Alumni to return home, encouraged to serve their families, communities, and fellow Veterans and Service Members.

WHO IS WWA?

WHO IS WWA?

WWA was formed by men who love fly fishing and have a heart for the sacrifice and service of Combat Veterans.  Bonded by the significant life impact of The Wild Adventure, WWA founders give back to active duty and retired Veterans, including those  experiencing combat operational stress injuries.

WWA Board Members are committed to the healing of emotional, moral and spiritual wounds of Combat Veterans referred by Military Chaplains, associated Military Veterans ministries, VA therapists and physicians and other Veterans organizations serving Veterans with combat stress injuries.

We recognize that the battles Combat Veterans are fighting are not merely physical.  Service members may have:

  • Some difficulty coping with the physical, mental and spiritual battles they face after returning home
  • A sense of loss of mission and purpose
  • A loss of camaraderie and brotherhood
  • A confused moral compass with no common foundation for living or reference for moral and ethical decision making
  • A struggle looking for life’s answers in how to engage in a cause bigger than themselves

Our trips feature daily fly fishing excursions, each man sharing his personal story in a confidential setting and group discussions with questions extracted from John Eldredge’s  book, “Wild at Heart”.  Using this proven heart-healing program, participants are encouraged to bury their burdens in the wilderness, accept forgiveness and healing, leading Veterans to a renewed purpose for their lives.

Armed with nourished hearts and a Biblical understanding of tools available to restore life relationships, warriors recommit to their wives, families and friends.  The new band of WWA brothers pledge ongoing encouragement for each other’s victorious daily warfare against spiritual enemies.

Alumni are asked to refer Veteran friends needing encouragement to WWA, and to serve them in their journey of healing, restoration and camaraderie within the growing WWA Brotherhood.

DONATE

Fundraising efforts provide the resources necessary for Combat Veterans to attend a Wild Warrior Adventure week in the wilderness fly-fishing where they will be fed physically, emotionally, and spiritually allowing them to best serve their country, their families and build a lifelong bond of the WWA Brotherhood. These intentional experiences and conversations lead to healing and freedom, and in turn, hope for those who have risked their lives to defend our freedom.
